Objectives
Abstract The immobilisation and disposal of current and future nuclear waste material is essential both to ensure public safety and to maintain the option of future nuclear energy generation. The aim of this network proposal is to provide a forum for all stakeholders - academic and industrial research goups, government agencies and industry regulators - to foster an integrated approach to nuclear waste management through improved communication and new collaborative research programmes. These organisations cover a broad range of disciplines that the network will bring together to the benefit of the stakeholders and the public. In addition, the proposed network will seek to improve public awareness in this area through educational workshops and informed media coverage
